The Next Generation of PSI

The Next Generation of PSI

Expanding on last month’s insights into the future of PSI, this edition spotlights the next generation of leaders. We’re thrilled to feature Taylor Litzinger and Joey Hindman, both on the path to leadership at PSI.

Anticipating the future of PSI involves identifying and mentoring individuals to propel the company to new heights. Taylor Litzinger, son of Vice President Chris Litzinger, and Joey Hindman, Chris’s nephew, are stepping up to lead and continue the legacy of the family business.

Both Taylor and Joey are familiar faces in the business, having devoted significant time working in the PSI plant during their earlier years. Joey’s journey began at the age of 15, painting safety bollards on the plant floor, a role he maintained through various capacities every summer until his graduation from the Citadel. This early exposure laid the foundation for his career in the corrugated industry. Joey then went on to become a management trainee at Interstate Container in Columbia, SC before advancing to serve as an Account Manager at both Interstate Container and DS Smith. In these roles Joey accumulated 6 years of valuable experience before the opportunity to return to PSI arose in 2020.

Taylor first joined PSI in the maintenance department during his summer breaks from Montana State University. After earning his degree in Business Management and gaining sales experience at Billion Auto Group, he returned to PSI full-time as a sales representative in 2018. Taylor shares that he was drawn back by the opportunity to continue the family tradition, “Working for the family business means a great deal to me. My grandfather started PSI nearly 50 years ago and has dedicated his life to the growth of the company and the wellbeing of the employees. The ability to contribute to a company and a group of people that helped shape me into the person I am today is priceless”.

Taylor, approaching his sixth year with PSI, and Joey, his fourth, are currently undergoing training to transition into sales management roles. As territory sales managers, they are receiving guidance from key leaders on the management team, including Chris Litzinger (Vice President), Jake Carrelli (Sales Manager), Todd Ireland (VP of Sales), and Ryan Eaton (Product Manager). Their initial integration involves participating in weekly manager meetings, streamlining communication between the Sales and Customer Service teams, assisting in budget preparation, and overseeing a junior sales representative.

Over the next three years, Taylor and Joey will gradually expand their teams and responsibilities until they ultimately oversee the entire sales force in their respective buildings. Alongside these developments, a revamped sales structure will be implemented, offering sales representatives and managers a clear pathway for advancement should they desire such an opportunity.

Stay tuned as the next generation takes PSI to new heights!
