Between being thankful in November and giving during December, PSI employees step up to help benefit their community in many different ways every year. Each Packaging Services Industries facility is actively involved with multiple organizations to donate goods, services and time to throughout the entire year to help give back to their local non-profits and community programs. Here are just a few examples of how our teams carry the holiday spirit of giving, all year long.
PSI in Williamsport, MD
PSI Sales Representative Ed Ergler recently volunteered to participate in his local Polar Burrr Plunge! Ed teamed up with PSI client Pete Jessic, Shift Supervisor for REI distribution center, and plunged into 33 degree water to raise money for the Holidaysburg YMCA.
PSI in Connellsville, PA
For the last 8 years, PSI of Connellsville has worked to collect animal food, blankets, cleaning supplies and money to be taken to local animal shelters, many of which operate on donations and volunteers.
Three years ago, they didn’t need to go to the shelter to help as the animal came to them.
“We were leaving work one evening and a dog was laying in our front lawn. The dog was very frightened and appeared to be injured. We laid a blanket out for it and with deep sadness, we all left for the day. The next morning the dog was still at PSI so Trish called her husband to take the dog to the vet and it turned out the dog had been shot with a pellet gun. That year we all pitched in and paid the vet bill and Trish gave “Odie” the best gift an animal could ask for. A forever home.” – Kim Soltis, Sales Representative for PSI.
PSI Container in McAdoo, PA
PSI Container employees are currently participating in the Marines Toys-for-Tots Foundation collection for toys during the holiday season. This is the second year in a row that PSI of McAdoo is doing this, and all are donating from the heart to help ensure every child has a Happy Holiday!
And it doesn’t stop there. Here are some of the other organizations and programs we partner with every year.
