Background: Originally from Atlanta, and raised in Hagerstown, Chris pursued his education at Goretti High School before furthering his studies in Business at Shepherd College, where he graduated with a degree in Business Management.
Career at PSI: Chris embarked on his professional journey with PSI in 1990 as a Sales Representative. Over the years, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication, steadily progressing through various roles within the company. He served as Sales Manager from 1996 to 2005 before assuming the position of General Manager at the McAdoo and Williamsport facilities from 2005 to 2019. Chris has now been serving as the Vice President for all three facilities—Connellsville, McAdoo, and Williamsport—since 2022.
Company Culture and Leadership: Throughout his tenure at PSI, Chris has witnessed the evolution of the company’s culture, which he describes as a closely-knit family. Although the idea of working in the family business may not have sounded like the most exciting prospect initially, Chris has immense gratitude for the opportunity and says that “working with the people you love is an unbelievable experience”.
Under his management, PSI has fostered a culture of mentorship, where every member of the team is encouraged to guide and support the next generation of talent. Chris’s leadership philosophy is rooted in empowering his team, providing them with a clear direction while allowing them the freedom to innovate and excel.
Professional Growth and Accomplishments: Reflecting on his journey with PSI, Chris emphasizes the importance of listening, adaptability, and building strong relationships with customers. He attributes PSI’s success to the dedication and pride of its employees, as well as the alignment of values between the company and its customers. When asked about his accomplishments, Chris is most proud of the complete rebuild of the McAdoo facility, a project he led to transform it into one of the most efficient and profitable plants in the organization.
The Future of PSI: Looking ahead, Chris is focused on steering PSI towards even greater success. With revenue at $25 million when he started at PSI, he aims to reach $200 million within the next five years. With this goal comes identifying and mentoring the next group of individuals who will continue to propel PSI to new heights.
