PSI’s 50ᵗʰ Anniversary.
What began in 1976 as a single plant with a small team has grown into a multi-plant operation serving customers across the Eastern United States. For fifty years, PSI has been defined by steady growth, strong customer partnerships, and a commitment to delivering high-quality packaging solutions.
The Beginning of PSI
PSI’s story began in 1975 when Vernon Litzinger and two silent partners from Virginia set out to build a company with limited resources and a clear mission. With a $50,000 loan and a $5,000 personal investment each, they launched the first plant and established the principles that still guide PSI today. Vernon’s engineering background, sales experience, and entrepreneurial drive shaped the company’s early identity and fueled the growth that followed.

Over the decades, PSI expanded its capabilities, invested in the latest technology, and built long-standing relationships with more than 1,500 customers across the Eastern U.S. Today, three generations of the Litzinger family continue to carry forward the legacy of innovation, quality, and service.
